WORKSHOP FLOOR SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Production Director, the Production Floor Supervisor will jointly with our other supervisor provide direction to the shop floor personnel, monitor the quality of work, ensure employees receive the proper training. The position will oversee and assist with the daily shop floor operations including process and procedure improvement activities.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide guidance and direction to the production floor personnel
• Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results and ensuring that people are following quality procedures and all other company policies
.• Develop and maintain training programs in conjunction with the Training Coordinator and Production Director to ensure that all personnel have the necessary skills to perform their duties safely and productively
• Coordinate daily production floor activities and delegate assignments to production personnel
.• Communicate clear expectations to production personnel, keep them informed of matters pertaining to their job
.• Monitor employee work performance relative to expectations and maintain material/work flow through the shop floor
• Monitor and enforce safety policies
.• Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times by educating and directing personnel
.• Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required
.• Ensure all stations are producing product to the company’s quality standards
.• Continuously evaluate the plant layout and material workflow for increased productivity
.• Monitor and enforce work start, break, and stop times of the production floor personnel
.• Monitor and enforce mobile phone prohibition of the production floor personnel
.• Monitor tidiness of the workstations and machines and shop floor work areas
.• Coordinate clean ups where necessary
.• Daily plans should be made and then presented to the shop floor each morning
• Be able to work in an environment with changing priorities
• Address conflicts of interest and provide solutions
.• Issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as tools as necessary
.• Jointly lead the production floor personnel and maintain a positive work atmosphere
.• Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
• Ensure KPI graphs are updated each month and KPI targets are achieved.

Salary is dependant on experience

The Company operates a Profit Share Scheme, the purpose of which is to pay employees a percentage of the Operating Profits of the Company on a quarterly basis. You will qualify for this scheme after being employed for a full six months. Please note that the Profit Share Scheme does not form part of your Contact of Employment.

The hours of work are 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
