Tidyco have installed Six Warm Air Heaters at the former Aircraft hangar in Bruntingthorpe Leicester. This area is used as a test track for the motor industry, Hangar 42 also hosts events and awards evenings, which require a constant flow of warm air due to the wide open space. The Powrmatic heaters installed helped create a 91% net efficiency climate control system that helped reduce the carbon footprint of the whole facility, while costing significantly less to run.

The Climate Control division of Tidyco has supplied and installed six Powrmatic NVx warm air heaters and nine Powrmatic CECx destratification fans to heat a former aircraft hangar at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. All of the units have been painted black to blend discreetly with the dark roof space of the building.

The Bruntingthorpe site has a rich history, having been used as a military airfield from 1942 to 1972, when it was converted to a test vehicle site for Chrysler and Peugeot. In 1983 the current owners, C Walton Ltd, set up a diverse group of businesses under the Bruntingthorpe brand, providing vehicle testing and storage as well as hosting a wide range of corporate events.

“We have recent refurbished the 2,700m2 hangar on our proving ground, which is used as a test track for the motor industry,” explained Bruntingthorpe’s Pete Walton. “As this space is used all year round it was important that we could heat the space efficiently. Tidyco recommended the Powrmatic units, which are working very well,” he added.

The Powrmatic heaters, comprising four NVx 90kW and two NVx 120kW suspended warm air heaters, have been installed in the roof space and combined with CECx destratification fans to ensure that warm air is circulated efficiently. With a net efficiency of over 91% the heaters will ensure that Bruntingthorpe is able to keep its customers comfortable while minimising its carbon footprint.
