Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground is a privately owned airport in Leicestershire, contained within the site is a number of disused aircraft hangars that host various events throughout the year. In 2015 Tidyco won the tender to install a number of heaters and fans for a 30,000 square foot hangar on site, this particular job used; 6 Powrmatic NVx Warm Air Heaters and 9 CECx Destratification Fans.

Much of the work Tidyco do regarding Air Conditioning installation is for the typical warehouse/distribution marketplace - demanding a cost effective solution that can 'get the job done'. This particular project required a discreet solution that could quickly alter the room temperature due to a number of glass facades running around the building. Slim Midea Heat Pumps were installed throughout the roofing, this did not affect the aesthetics of the room and gave the ability to deliver conditioned air in a matter of minutes.

In 2015 Tidyco were approached by Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground to provide an air conditioning solution to a new reception area that had been built alongside the 30,000 square foot hangar worked on previously. This area is planned to be used as a reception prior to large events or for hosting smaller events, giving customers a cost effective solution to hiring out the entire venue.

The new building contains all glass facades, a key requirement for this space was that the comfort conditions can be maintained quickly and efficiently throughout the year. In light of this, Tidyco Climate Control Director David Hithersay came up with a unique approach;

“Having assessed the site, we selected 40 x 10kW Midea heat pump inverter units from Powrmatic for their ability to deliver the required performance within budget. Because of the glass facades, we have used ceiling-suspended models as a discreet solution that provides effective distribution of conditioned air.”

This unique installation required a different approach to a typical Tidyco Climate Control Division project, in most cases the aesthetics come second to functionality. By offering a discreet suspended air solution – warm/cold air became available at the flick of a switch – allowing the room temperature to be manipulated fast during events.
