Direct Vision Standard
If you operate heavy good vehicles (HGV) with a gross vehicle weight of 12 tonne or above and you are planning to drive into Greater London (or anywhere within the M25 perimeter) then your lorry will need to conform to the Direct Vision Standard (DVS) as set out by Transport for London.
The DVS is part of the Mayor of London’s Vision Zero Plan, which is to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on London’s transport network by 2041. The DVS uses a star rating system: 0 to 5 stars and from 2024, three stars will be the minimum requirement.
Failure to comply may mean that you will be subject to a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) of £550. Don’t get caught out, avoid the hassle of a PCN and make sure your vehicle is DVS compliant by contacting us today to fit your HGV will all the necessary, safety-critical components.
