A car dealership based in the East Midlands approached Tidyco to supply the air conditioning equipment, installation and on-going maintenance for a new showroom. It was imperative for the car dealership to construct a showroom with a luxurious style and feel in order to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

With a sleek building design and minimalist interior décor, it was important for Tidyco Ltd to choose an air conditioning product that blended seamlessly into the overall building ambience. The Samsung HVAC brand was selected and a proposal for the new range of 360 ceiling mounted circular cassettes submitted to the customer for the main showroom area. With the product range approved, David Hithersay – Climate Control Director for Tidyco set about designing a complete HVAC system solution prior to install.

David Hithersay explains;

“I chose the new range of Samsung circular cassettes for both their aesthetically pleasing design as well as technical capability in delivering a draught free even cooling 360 degree rotational air flow throughout large work spaces.”

The Challenge:

“The showroom is a large open area with full height windows to the front aspect of the building. The design construction consists of an open plan mezzanine office section which sits to the top of the space, overlooking the main showroom area.”

David comments;

“The main challenge for Tidyco was to ensure that office workers sitting in the mezzanine work area above the showroom did not become uncomfortable due to rising heat.”

The Solution:

Tidyco designed an HVAC system with strategically placed Samsung ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilation) Heat Recovery units directly above the mezzanine office area. This installation solution provides enhanced energy efficiency for the customer.

Furthermore, the innovative implementation of fan units installed in sequence with the Samsung circular cassettes allowed for hot air to be suppressed from excessive rising whilst being evenly dispersed throughout the room.

“This really was a nice feature to include within the overall HVAC system solution. The room space was quite complex due to the height, size, glass frontage and split level nature of the architecture. The fan units do an excellent job in further managing the interior climate whilst visually complimenting the stylish Samsung product design.”

Important too, was the need to simplify the control and programme settings within the installation. Both fan and cassette controls were wall mounted next to the spiral staircase which connects the showroom to mezzanine office space.

“Both wall control panels are incredibly easy to use.”

David says;

“The idea being that as office workers approach the staircase, they can quickly switch on the fan units prior to accessing the mezzanine work area.”

Ground floor back office areas were installed with further Samsung branded ceiling mounted cassette units.

“As part of the HVAC system design, all units were labelled with the Tidyco asset management QR label.”

The Tidyco Climate Control Asset Management solution automates the regular maintenance alert process, ensuring that the HVAC system is consistently maintained. This digital automation enhances asset life cycle as well as system working efficiency whilst complying with industry regulations and minimising detrimental environmental impact.
Job details are also stored electronically, allowing the customer full visibility of work schedules and progress reports via a secure online portal. Emergency repair requirements can also be requested online and allocated in real-time to a national team of Tidyco Climate Control Engineers.
