Derby-based Tidyco, a supplier of hydraulic and pneumatic products to the UK rail industry for over 40 years, has received official recognition for its initiatives to reduce carbon and save energy.

Through support provided by D2 Energy Efficiency, Tidyco has been successful in securing necessary funding so as to install energy efficient LED lighting with sensors and dimmers throughout its manufacturing facility on Pentagon Island, Derby UK.

The upgrade to its engineering plant has allowed Tidyco to save over 9, 650 kWh and 6 tonnes in carbon a year.

The project bolsters additional environmental kudos including the installation of a heat pump water heating system and solar panelled roofing.

A certificate of achievement was presented to Tidyco’s Production Director, Philip Mason by Councillor Mathew Holmes, Deputy Leader for Derby City Council on 31st January 2019.

Phil Mason - Production Director for Tidyco with a D2 Energy Efficiency certificate.

Phil comments; “D2 Energy Efficiency has been pivotal in not only providing free energy surveys but also in supporting Tidyco to obtain the necessary grants so as to make the upgrades to its commercial premises.

I believe that it is incredibly important for SMEs throughout the region to consider their environmental impact and highly recommend the D2 Energy Efficiency team as a reliable resource to make changes to a commercial building. Making such improvements will help the environment as well as provide tangible cost savings to a property.”

With the recent launch of a new Electrical Division, Tidyco is now approved to supply similar installations for commercial and industrial properties.

Furthermore, the company has recently gained the necessary accreditation to fit car charging points as part of a wider facilities management service provision.
